Volkswagen Connect edition: Top 10 features

Volkswagen India recently launched the Vento, Polo and Ameo Connect Editions for the festive season. Here are the additional features that make these Connect editions worth watching out for.

1. VW Connect App

Volkswagen is providing a new ‘Connect’ assistance system that enables users to connect their car to their smartphone through a plug-and-play data dongle. The latter is fitted on the on-board diagnostics (OBD) port of the car and connects with the smartphone device via Bluetooth to provide vital information.

2. Lapiz blue exterior

The carmaker also introduced a new Lapiz blue body colour for all these vehicles. It was only available on the Passat earlier.

3. Roof foil

The car's roof is wrapped with a black body decal to distinguish it from the regular trims.

4. Black ORVM cap

The OVRMs also get the same black treatment adding to the appeal of the car.

5. 16-inch Portago alloy wheels

Another major update is in the form of grey coloured 16-inch Portago alloy wheels as against the standard silver coloured ones.

6. Chrome fender badge

All Connect editions will boast of a chrome badge on the fender pointing at the special trim.

7. Stylish side foils

The company has also equipped these vehicles with stylish side foils with a 'Connect' emblem on it.

8. Leatherette black seat covers

The cabin of the cars gets an all-black theme and the seats are now adorned with leatherette black covers that look nice and premium.

9. Aluminium pedals

Volkswagen has also given the cars aluminium pedals to add to that sporty quotient inside.

10. Additional safety

While ABS and EBD are a standard part of the equipment, the carmaker has upped the safety quotient on the Vento with front side airbags.
