Volkswagen sold 3,572 units in April 2015 as compared to 3,033 units in the corresponding period last year achieving a growth of 18 per cent.
The German automaker has issued a statement attributing the increase in sales to the successful launches of the new Jetta and Vento Magnific, which offer the best build quality, safety standards and driving dynamics in their respective segments.
Commenting on the numbers, Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India said, “We are happy to note the overall positive sentiment in the Indian automotive industry, which has also had a very good effect on our sales. We are particularly encouraged by our customers’ response to the DSG-equipped variants of the Vento and the Polo GT. The growth we achieved in April is higher than the industry average, and we remain confident of continuing to improve our sales figures over the coming months.”
