CarWale, India’s no.1 automotive portal, gears up for Navi Mumbai’s first Vintage & Classic Car Drive – Vintage Wheels this Sunday, 20th December’09. Around 40 Vintage car owners will come together and drive in their pre-1960s cars to Khandala, and will share their experiences. Organized by Sportscraft and sponsored by CarWale, the Drive will flag off from Four Points Sheraton, Navi Mumbai, at 8.30 am, with the participants driving to Duke’s Retreat in Khandala where the event will culminate with brunch and an interactive session for the participants. From a Ferrari to a Fiat, any car of the pre-1960 era classifies as Vintage and is expected to participate.
“The drive will bring together car aficionados who own some rare car brands from the yesteryears and bond over a nice brunch. We look forward to see this property take shape and reach a national scale someday,†said Mohit Dubey, CEO of Carwale.
“This is a drive and not a rally; there are no winners or losers. It is a cult like the owners of the Enfield Bullet who do a road trip to Ladakh or the Harley Davidson owners roughing it out in Europe,†added Srikanth Karani, owner of Sportscraft.
Vintage Wheels drivers will drive down a fixed route from Navi Mumbai to Khandala and back. Registrations for participation close on 3rd December’09. Entries will be accepted strictly on a first come first serve basis. A minimal entry fee of Rs 1500 will be charged per car. Three coupons for brunch would be given per car.
