The Range Rover Evoque really did rewrite the motoring rule book upon its arrival back in 2011. Since then, the striking looking crossover model has been selling well in every market it’s been sold in. For their 2017 model year upgrade, Land Rover has upgraded the Evoque with a new infotainment system and a special edition model.
As part of a package of enhancements to the Evoque, Land Rover is offering the ‘Ember’ edition which gets red and black exterior and interior theme boosting the car’s appeal.
The Ember edition is based on the HSE Dynamic trim and features red roof contrasts with black for the exterior. Other changes include satin black wheels and darkened front and rear lights.
The ‘Ember’ theme continues inside, with ebony black seats sporting contrasting red stitching, complemented by black and red carpet mats and gloss black trim finishes.
The 2017 Evoque gets a 10.2-inch tablet-style pinch and zoom touchscreen display and a customisable home screen. The system is called InControl Touch Pro.
The touchscreen behaves like a smartphone with swipe, pan and pinch to zoom controls and provides better resolution over the Evoque’s standard 8-inch touchscreen system.
Additional features include high 3D maps and a bird’s eye view surround camera system allowing drivers to see the vehicle from above, ideal for negotiating through traffic.
The Evoque Ember edition will be available for a limited three-month period with UK deliveries expected from September. Prices for the 2017 Evoque range start from £47,200 (Rs 44.99 lakh) on-road.
