Here’s our best look at the updated Mercedes S65 AMG that’s currently under development. From what we can see on this particular prototype, the design upgrades on this four-door iteration aren’t as dramatic as on the S65 Coupe.
The S65 AMG is all about the engine and in this updated form it is expected to gain a few extra horses over the 630bhp figure in the current model. The same updates will also apply to the S63 AMG which will make around 600bhp.
What may come as a big surprise though is that the updated S65 AMG won’t be rear-wheel drive anymore. Given that AMG has already announced its plans of making most of their upcoming models all-wheel drive, the updated S65 will lose some of its madness.
The updated S65 AMG will be unveiled together with the standard S-Class facelift. The latter will go on sale in Europe starting January 2017.
