- Gets a new exterior colour
- Features a bigger touchscreen infotainment system
An updated version of the BYD Atto 3 will be launched in India tomorrow. The update sees the car get a new Cosmo Black colour, bigger touchscreen infotainment system, bigger wheels, and two new interior colour schemes. BYD has also upped the wheel size as a part of the deal.
As we said when the car was first teased, BYD obtained ARAI homologation. This is expected to allow a switch from an SKD route to a CKD route for the car, bringing the cost down. BYD will also likely introduce a lower-spec version of the car, which will get the same battery pack but with a lower range. As a part of its global updates, BYD is also expected to extend the range of the fully loaded model from 512km to 565km WLTP.
We expect the opening of bookings for the updated model soon and a minor price hike, though this should not have much impact given that the Atto 3 is already priced at Rs. 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It doesn’t have any rivals at present but will get a crop of them in the future from companies such as Hyundai, Honda, Maruti, and Toyota.
