Porsche has introduced the 2016 Macan in Malaysia. Though prices were not released at the time, sources added that it’s expected to be similar to the existing price range. Currently the base Macan 2.0-litre, Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo costs between RM 435,000 and RM 820,000 (Rs 72.30 lakh to Rs 1.36 crore).
Upgrades have found their way to the equipment list, power increment to the base model and slight changes to the exteriors. Power for the base version Macan that uses a 2.0 litre turbocharged motor has now increased by 15bhp to 252bhp, and torque has also improved by 20Nm to 370Nm. The rest of the versions continue to soldier on with their current power output.
On the equipment front, the Porsche dynamic light system plus is now available as an option. It features static cornering lights and speed sensitive headlamp range control as standard. The 2016 Macan also receives Porsche’s communication management infotainment system that is displayed on a new seven-inch touch screen. The interface for this unit has a proximity sensor, multi-touch gesture selection, WiFi hotspot and is Apple CarPlay compatible. There’s also 3D navigation with real time traffic information that can be controlled through voice commands.
Porsche currently sells the Macan S diesel and the Macan Turbo in India, and is expected to release the 252bhp base version sometime later.
