- To debut in the coming month
- Will be the first turbo-petrol CNG car
Tata Motors introduced the twin CNG cylinders tech and later went onto revealing first CNG automatic cars, the Tiago and Tigor CNG. Now, the Indian automaker is set to make history again with the introduction of India’s first turbo-petrol CNG car in the form of the Nexon CNG.
Moreover, the Tata Nexon CNG is set to get two gearbox options – a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The CNG-powered compact SUV will debut with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine capable of churning out 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. However, this power out is in standard petrol mode, and the CNG version will have slightly reduced power figures.
With this, the Nexon range will offer an array of powertrain options including petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric. Currently, Tata Motor’s CNG line-up has four models, namely, Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, and Punch.
Upon its launch, the Tata Nexon CNG will likely command a premium of up to Rs. 80,000 over the standard versions. And it will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG in the compact SUV segment.
