Suzuki will turn up the heat on its show floor at the Frankfurt Motor Show with an entirely-new Swift Sport. The mini hot hatch, as we know, will make its public debut at the motor show in September. However, before the big reveal, Suzuki has put out new pictures showcasing more details of this much awaited performance model.
We have already seen the exterior look of the new Swift Sport in previous pictures. This time around, Suzuki has revealed the performance-oriented cabin. Keeping in mind the sporty theme, the interior gets plenty of go-faster bits in the form of a flat bottom steering wheel, front seats that are snugger, with red dials and a few similarly coloured trim pieces. The infotainment system, meanwhile, will be the same as Suzuki’s other models, featuring Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Whereas its predecessor uses a screaming 1.6 naturally aspirated engine, the new Swift Sport will use a smaller albeit turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder motor which is expected to make around 138bhp of power and significantly more torque than the old 1.6 motor.
Like the old car, the new Swift Sport will be positioned at the affordable end of the hot hatch space, offering lots of practicality and driving thrills. It will mainly compete with the Volkswagen Up! GTI which is also due for launch in Europe.
