Mahindra’s upcoming MPV, codenamed U321 has been spotted on test once again. The new vehicle will compete against the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta. It is believed that the Indian car manufacturer might unveil the new model at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo event in the country. At the time of its launch, the vehicle will be available in seven-eight seating layout along with optional captain seats for second row passengers.
Mechanical details are not known for now, however reports indicate that the upcoming vehicle might be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine. It is also believed that the MPV might also be offered with a petrol engine option. The upcoming vehicle will be the company’s third offering to be based on a monocoque platform.
The U321 gets a new grille based on Mahindra’s new design philosophy. The vehicle is expected to be offered with projector headlamps and petal shaped LED DRLs near the fog lamps. The vehicle also gets vertically positioned tail lights, bumper mounted reflector units, and a roof-mounted LED stop lamp. The test mule also features a five-split spoke alloy wheel design. As for the interior, the MPV is likely to get a dual tone theme along with a seven-inch infotainment system borrowed from the XUV500. More details about the upcoming MPV will be known on a later date.
