Last month, an upcoming Hyundai hatchback was spotted on test. This time around the camouflaged hatchback has been spotted on test once again, thereby hinting on its launch sometime in 2018. Speculations are rift that this might be the new Santro, although Hyundai has not confirmed it yet. Internally known as the AH2, the upcoming vehicle might be positioned between the Eon and the Grand i10.
Mechanical details for the vehicle is not known for now, however it is believed that the vehicle might continue to be powered by a 1.0-litre Kappa engine borrowed from the Eon. Initially it might be limited to a five speed manual transmission option while the AMT could be introduced on a later date. Based on what can be seen, the vehicle gets a tall boy stance, larger window panes and will offer more space than its predecessor.
The Korean car manufacturer might introduce the new hatchback at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo event in the country. The Santro being a volume generating yesteryear product for the company, its relaunch will mean further pushing its sales positively. Hyundai being a competitive player in the Indian market, the new model is expected to be priced under Rs 5 lakhs. Additional details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
