- Sports new three-spoke steering wheel
Hyundai Motor India is working on the biggest launch in the EV segment with its Creta EV in the coming year. The model is scheduled to be showcased at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025, with its launch in the following months. Now, ahead of any official announcement, the model was spied on test.
The new teaser images reveal the cabin of the electric SUV. As visible, there are elements that have been directly taken from the ICE Creta, including the dashboard layout, AC vents, twin displays, and the HVAC panel.
However, the centre console gets a new treatment with an electronic parking brake, repositioned ventilated seat buttons, cup holders, and a rotary dial for the drive mode selector. Other notable changes include a new three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and a drive selector stalk on the steering column.
In terms of features, the Creta EV will be as equipped as its engine-based version. It will come loaded with a 360-degree surround camera, Level 2 ADAS suite, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered driver seat, cruise control, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
As for the battery pack and specifications, the Creta EV is likely to sport two battery pack options with a maximum driving range of up to 500km on a single charge. Based on the modified K2 platform, the Creta EV will feature a similar design language and interior space, with many shared parts and components with the Creta ICE.
Upon its launch, the Hyundai Creta EV will compete against the new Tata Curvv EV, BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV400, and the MG ZS EV in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
