-For BMW, the car might be called i2
-Might replace the expensive i3
BMW and Daimler coming together was a massive piece of news in 2018 and now the collaboration looks all-set to bear fruit. According to reports, the first new car will be built ground-up and for BMW it will replace the i3. Rumored to be called the i2, the new car might lose the i3’s carbon fiber construction in a bid to reduce cost and increase profitability. The i2 might be launched by 2024 and is expected to have a range of around 300km.
Daimler on the other hand might follow it up with their own EV under the Mercedes-Benz EQ sub-brand. Since their collaboration, both company’s also announced a new mobility company to take on ridesharing services such as Lyft and Uber and merged current mobility operations.
