The all-new California T is quite an important model for Ferrari as it marks the return of turbo power in the Italian supercar maker’s model line-up. The Geneva-bound California T, in fact, is the first turbocharged Ferrari after the legendary F40.
Ferrari is making bold claims with the California T, with torque figure up by a massive 49 per cent and fuel consumption down by 15 per cent compared to the outgoing California. Under the hood sits a low-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 552bhp of power and 755Nm of torque.
Thanks to the improved power output, the new California T can accelerate from zero to 100kmph in just 3.6 seconds and wring its way to a top speed of over 300kmph. Compared to the outgoing model, fuel efficiency is down by 15 per cent and emissions are down to 250 g/km.
Other standout features include the latest-generation Magnaride dampers, F1-inspired Trac traction control system and carbon ceramic brakes.
Although Ferrari will only reveal the new California T at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the car can be admired online at Ferrari’s official website in its two launch colours: first up is the classic Ferrari trademark Rosso California and then the Blu California. Go feast!
