Twelfth edition of Gulf Foster a Child car drive concludes

Gulf Oil Corporation’s Foster a Child Car Drive completed yesterday on February 16, 2014 at Khandala. This was the 12th edition of the drive organized by Sportscraft.

The drive started from Maharashtra State Police Housing and Welfare Corp. in the morning and ended at Hotel Duke’s Retreat, in Khandala, in the afternoon. The car owners who participated in the journey adorned their cars with stickers of Reduce, Recycle & Reuse. The cars that took part in the journey were bedecked in the theme of Child Labour. The best decorated car and the best dressed team were given trophies.

Each car’s crew consisted of a driver, navigator and minimum one child as well as an orphan child. A route chart was provided to every team which helped in a unique combination of navigational expertise and general knowledge. This chart also helped in answering various general knowledge questions ranging from Sports, current affairs, Bollywood, Hollywood etc. at various pit-stops on the way to the final destination.

The event was held to bring a smile on the faces of under-privileged children and to sensitise people towards the plight of these children and the drive definitely helped in doing the same filling the day with fun, frolic and happiness.
