Toyota is developing the latest iteration of the Fortuner and giving it a comprehensive update. The updated SUV was rendered by a Malaysian website giving an idea of the external appearance.
The changes made to this 2016 Toyota Fortuner were earlier revealed through a spyshot, which is when we got an idea about the new design of the car. The front fascia gets a new two-slat grille that extends up to the sweptback projector headlamps. To add to the bling factor these headlights are surrounded by chrome embellishments. A redesigned bumper with a new black air dam, new fog lamp housings surrounded by thick curved aluminium accents differentiate this car from the Fortuner currently on sale. Though there are no images of the rear end, we can expect it to also get a similar slim-cut treatment with sleek tail lamps.
Toyota might add new diesel engine options for this new Fortuner, the official details of which will soon emerge. These diesel units along with the petrol powerplants are expected to come paired to manual and automatic transmissions with the availability of 2WD and 4WD options.
All the updates to the new Fortuner might be unveiled soon as the SUV is expected to be fully unveiled by the end of this year. This next-gen variant of the Fortuner will go up against the Ford Endeavour when launched in our country.
