Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the Yaris with prices starting at Rs. 8.75 lakh ex-showroom India. The Yaris was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo and has marked Toyota’s entry into the mid-size sedan segment. The Toyota Yaris is priced in the range of Rs. 8.75 lakhs to Rs. 14.07 lakhs.
Toyota has concentrated on giving the Yaris plenty first in class features besides being loaded to the gills. Safety has been paramount and the Yaris gets 7 SRS airbags (SRS D+P airbags, SRS side airbags, SRS Curtain Shield Airbags (CSA) and SRS knee airbag), ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, Vehicle stability control, front and rear parking sensors and disc brakes all around.
In a bid to aid comfort, the Yaris comes with a high solar energy absorbing (HSEA), IR cut, acoustic & vibration control glass for windshield & doors for quieter cabin, electric driver’s seat, roof mounted air vents with ambient illumination for rear passengers and hand /air gesture controlled infotainment system with Touch Screen Navigation among other features.
The Yaris comes with a 1.5L Dual VVTi petrol engine with a 7 speed CVT automatic or 6 speed MT options. The CVT option will be made available across all trims. The Toyota Yaris will compete with the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Rapid.
