Toyota will officially open bookings for the Yaris sedan in April. It had unveiled and showcased the car at the 2018 Auto Expo and will be the first major addition to the Toyota family in almost a year.
The Yaris will only be offered with petrol power which in this case is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit producing 106bhp/140Nm. Depending on the variant, it is expected to be offered with either a six-speed manual or a CVT. It will be the first car in the segment to get a powered driver’s seat, roof mounted AC control and six airbags as standard. We have spoken in heavy detail about the Yaris and you can read about that here.
Toyota is expected to give a premium pricing for the Yaris and looks to have in its sights the Honda City, Hyundai Verna as well as some of the D-segment SUVs like the Creta and Duster in its sights.
