- Toyota Yaris CVT variant constitutes over 65 per cent of bookings

The recently launched Toyota Yaris, especially the automatic variant, has been well accepted in the Indian market. The company claims that it has received over 65 per cent of the bookings for the automatic version, which is optional across all variants namely - J, G, V, and the VX. Apart from convenience, the automatic variant also reportedly delivers slightly better fuel economy figures.
Limited to a petrol variant, the Yaris gets a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 106bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. Besides the seven-speed automatic transmission variant, the Yaris is also available with a six-speed manual. As for pricing, the base automatic variant is priced at Rs 9.95 lakhs, while the top-spec VX automatic is priced at Rs 14.07 lakhs.
