Owners of several Toyota Camry sedans will need to make an uncalled-for trip to the dealers soon, as the Japanese automaker has just announced a recall due to issues with the vehicle’s suspension. Alongside the Camry, Toyota has also recalled the Avalon luxury sedan which has been plagued with a similar issue.
Cars falling under the recall reportedly suffer from a bad bolt connection to the ball joint in the left front lower suspension arm. In case of a vehicle hitting a big pothole and suffering a big shunt, the two components might fall apart, leading to loss of steering control.
A total of 5,650 units of the Camry and the Avalon manufactured from 2014 onwards have been affected. According to Toyota, no incidents relating to the condition have been reported yet. Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by Toyota soon and the dealers will be replacing the lower suspension arm with a new unit.
