Toyota has announced via its official USA Facebook page that will unveil the 2014 Corolla on June 6 and have released a teaser image in this regard. We already have an idea of the overall design thanks to the Corolla Furia Concept car that was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
Thanks to an accidental information leak by a Toyota dealer in Kansas, USA, we also know that 2014 Corolla will most likely get an upgraded VVT-i system, CVT gearbox for the higher trims as well refreshed interiors.
The 2014 Toyota Corolla is expected to be powered by the same 1.8-litre petrol mill and the 1.4-litre diesel engine. While the former produces 139PS and 173Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 87PS and 205Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic (petrol only). It is expected to share many of its components with the larger Camry sedan.
Toyota India had announced last year that it would focus its efforts on developing the Liva twins till 2015.This means that the all-new Corolla’s India debut is still some time away, unless Toyota decides to build and export the new model from India to the Asian markets.
