Toyota will add a sporty variant to its Fortuner line-up in the form of a TRD Sportivo model. This is a cosmetically enhanced version of Toyota’s D-segment SUV and will be the second sporty model from Toyota after the Touring Sport.
In the Thai market, this TRD Sportivo variant is offered in two shades- white and black, but we believe that India will get this car only in the white shade. The roof, wheels and side steps have been blacked out while a TRD Sportivo badge has been added at the rear. It is based on the top-of-the-line petrol and diesel model which means you get all the bells and whistles but now in a cabin that has been trimmed out in a shade of black and silver.
The India spec car is likely to be offered with petrol AT and diesel AT/MT power. The former is a 2.7-litre four-cylinder unit while the diesel is a 2.8-litre unit. They are offered with a six-speed manual or a six-speed AT.
The Fortuner TRD is expected to be priced a lakh over the top-of-the-line model , putting it in contention with Audi Q3, BMW X1 as well as the Mercedes-Benz GLA.   Â
