Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched two new variants for the Corolla Altis sedan and has updated the information on their official website in this regard. The new variants are J (S) petrol and the J (S) diesel and have been priced at Rs 11.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 13.16 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Toyota has also discontinued the J base petrol variant.
The J (S) diesel is pretty much the same as the base variant J diesel but with the addition of two airbags, a touchscreen display with USB compatibility. The J (S) petrol replaces the base variant J petrol. Changes on the new petrol model include two airbags, manual HVAC, a rear armrest and touchscreen display with USB compatibility.
Under the hood, the J (S) diesel will continue to be powered by a four-cylinder 1.4-litre mill producing 88PS and 205 Nm of torque. The J (S) petrol is powered by a four-cylinder 1.8-litre mill producing 139.9PS and 173Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels in both variants via a six-speed manual gearbox. The diesel has an ARAI fuel efficiency figure of 21.45kmpl while the petrol has a figure of 15.23kmpl.
