Toyota sales surge 17 per cent in August year on year

Toyota India has dispatched a total of 14,581 units from its factory in the month of August 2018 of which 14,100 cars have been delivered in the domestic market while 481 cars have been exported. The domestic sales have registered a growth of 17 per cent when compared to sales numbers of August 2017 when the company managed to sell 12,017 units.

Also, Toyota has managed to breach the 14,000 mark in domestic sales for the first time in the Indian market. The good response to the newly launched two-tone Etios Liva hatchback seems to have pushed the numbers past the 14,000 mark after more than a quarter of consistently selling more than 13,000 units a month.

With the Toyota-Suzuki partnership coming in next year, Toyota will expect to at least double the numbers to fight for the number three spot in the Indian market.
