Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM)'s overall sales figures, including exports, last month were reported at 13,601 units. This shows 8 per cent growth as TKM's cumulative sales in October 2014 were at 12,556 units.
The domestic wholesales for October 2015 stood at 12,403 units while exports during the last month stood at 1,198 units. TKM managed to sell 1,19,095 units within the country from January to October 2015. The sales figures for the same period, last year, stood at 1,08,863 units, showing a growth of 9 per cent.
The Etios series of cars also added to the growth with a hike of 12 per cent in their sales. This growth is mainly due to the introduction of the refreshed Liva hatchback. The new Camry is also doing well in the Indian market as its sales figures have crossed the numbers in comparison to last year.
N Raja, Director and Senior Vice-President, sales and marketing, said, "With the festive season on, we have seen a growth of 9 per cent in our sales from January to October 2015 when compared to the same period last year. The Etios series has also seen a cumulative growth. The New Liva introduced to delight our customers this festive season has received an overwhelming response from the buyers. The sale of the new Camry continues to grow and has already exceeded the total sales of Camry in 2014. Camry Hybrid constitutes 90 per cent of the total New Camry sales."
These sales numbers are expected to get better with the onset of the festive season. The refreshed cars from TKM's portfolio should find a good demand and help boost the sales numbers for the company.
