Toyota Kirloskar Motors has sold a total of 12,403 units in India in October 2017 as against 11,651 units sold in the same period last year, thereby witnessing a sales growth of six per cent in the domestic market. The company has also exported 1597 units of the Etios series in October 2017 thereby bringing the total number to 14,000 units as against 974 units of the Etios series which were exported in the same period last year.
The company claims that it has received a good response for the ‘Etios Cross X-Edition’ and the ‘Fortuner TRD Sportivo’. The company further states that Etios Cross X-Edition which is loaded with new features and also gets a sporty and stylish look, was launched particularly for the festive season. The special edition model has also been a considerable contributor to the company’s overall sales growth in October. Toyota also claims that since there was no change in price post the hike in cess, there has been a slight improvement in sales for the Camry hybrid.
Speaking about monthly sales, N. Raja, Director and Sr. Vice President, sales and marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are happy that the festive season has given a positive push to the domestic sales in the auto industry. There is a spur in the customer demand. Innova Crysta and Fortuner continues to enjoy good growth in demand in the market. We are utilizing one of our plant to the maximum capacity to ensure the waiting period is reduced and thank our customers for their patience and trust.”
