Toyota has released a few more teasers for the 2014 Corolla ahead of its June 6 unveiling. The pictures show various aspects of the car and have been surfacing Toyota USA’s Facebook page. The overall design of the car is expected to be along the lines of the Furia concept vehicle that was unveiled at 2013 Detroit Motor Show in January.
The teaser pictures show that the 2014 Corolla will get LED head lamps and tail lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels and a touch-screen infotainment system. We already know that the Corolla is expected to continue with the same 1.8-litre mill four cylinder mill that produces 138PS and 173Nm of torque, it will however now be fitted with the Japanese automaker’s VVT-i technology.
The Indian spec version is also expected to continue with the 1.4-litre diesel that produces 87PS and 205Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a CVT box in the American spec version but in most other markets, the Corolla will continue with the six-speed manual.
Toyota India had announced last year that it would focus its efforts on developing the Liva twins till 2015.This means that the all-new Corolla’s India debut is still some time away, unless Toyota decides to build and export the new model from India to the Asian markets. However, we will bring you all the details from the June 6 unveiling, so stay tuned to CarWale.
