Toyota Kirloskar Motor has managed a YoY domestic growth of 20 per cent selling 13,113 units in May 2018 compared to 10,194 units in the same month last year. The Japanese carmaker also exported 827 units of the Etios series last month.
Commenting on the sales performance, N. Raja, deputy managing director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are happy to have achieved a double-digit growth of 20 per cent in the domestic sales in the month of May 2018. Along with the segment-leading products, Fortuner and Innova Crysta, Yaris has been a significant contributor to the overall positive sales growth as compared to the same period last year. We would like to thank our loyal customers for their relentless support and confidence that they have on Toyota products.”
Toyota launched the all-new Yaris sedan in India last month with prices ranging from Rs 8.75 lakhs to Rs 14.07 lakhs (average all-India ex-showroom). By the end of the month, Toyota had already dispatched more than 4000 units of the Yaris to the dealership across the country. The automatic variant of the C-segment sedan has been well accepted in the Indian market as the carmaker claims that it has received over 65 per cent of all bookings for the automatic version. The two-pedal set-up is optional across all variants namely - J, G, V, and the VX.
