Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 62 per cent in March. The company sold 13,333 units in March 2015 in the domestic market as compared to 8,206 units in March 2014 on the basis of which it has shown a growth of 10 per cent in FY 2014-15 when compared to FY 2013-14.
Its total sales stand at 14,623 units (including exports) in March 2015 as opposed to 9,018 units sold in March 2014. The company exported 1,290 units of Etios series this month.
Looking back we see Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered a growth of 16 per cent with sales of 12,650 units in January 2015 in the domestic market as compared to 10,910 units in January 2014. Continuing the trend in February as well, the company sold 11,802 units in the domestic market as compared to 10,100 units in February 2014 marking a growth of 17 per cent.
Toyota has benefitted from the new launches. The Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner have brought in a lot of sales for the company pushing it to the double digit growth. Toyota is also celebrating a milestone in their Indian journey. The Innova completed a successful journey of 10 years last month.
Apart from this, the company has also paid special attention to the safety equipment in their car. It has become the first manufacturer in India to standardise front dual SRS Airbags across all models and in all grades in mass automobile segments. This and the new launches have helped Toyota rake in the profits.
