Toyota has added a new J+ variant to the Corolla Altis diesel lineup and discontinued the top-end GL trim, effectively slashing the price of diesel car by Rs 1.4 lakh. The new top-sped version of the D-Segment sedan is the Limited Edition based on the G variant priced at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The company recently introduced a limited edition trim in both the petrol and diesel guise, offering a few extra features over the G variant for a premium of Rs 10,000. This has however changed with the recent update and the prices of the G trim have also dropped by Rs 37,000. Even the second to base, JS trim has been omitted from the new price list, replaced by a J+ variant priced at Rs 14.13 lakh, costing Rs 37,000 less.
The Limited Edition gets the smart link touch screen music system with gesture control and smartphone enabled navigation, along with leather seats, faux wood trim, illuminated scuff plates and limited edition badging both on the outside and inside.
However, with the exclusion of the GL trim the features like start-stop button, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlamps, eight-way adjustable driver-side power seat, rear sunshade and rain sensing wipers won’t be available with Corolla Altis anymore.
