Toyota has showcased the latest iteration of their most popular hybrid car – the Prius – at the Auto Expo 2016. The fourth gen Prius looks anything but alien to start with as we get up close to dig in to its details.
The boomerang-like headlamps, vertical LED fog lamps and a snout-like front bumper can best be called futuristic by all standards.
Moving on to the side, it is a four-door coupe with a sloping roof-line that blends in to the notchback. The cabin seems spacious for four with enough headroom in the back.
The rear also gets the boomerang-like lamps with LEDs flowing down from the top of the boot. The creases and cuts toe the alien-design line from the front.
You open that boot-lid and you are welcomed by a humongous boot, enough to carry your dining table for the weekend camping trip.
The dashboard is geek paradise with so many buttons, screens and warning lights to decode. The speedometer is digital and the infotainment system is touchscreen.
The power-plant has a 1.8-litre four cylinder petrol engine working in consonance with the electric motor powered by a new lithium ion battery and a CVT transmission.
With the added performance and safety features, the new Prius can certainly be your way of doing your bit for the environment.
