In an effort to increase sales for the Platinum Etios, Toyota has introduced its limited edition variant in petrol and diesel guise. Loaded with premium features, the Platinum Etios Limited Edition is based on the VX and VXD trims with prices starting at Rs 7.84 lakhs (Ex-showroom). Changes are limited to cosmetic upgrades while mechanically it continues to be powered by existing engine options. As the name suggests, both the variants will be available for a limited period.
Toyota Platinum Etios is limited to phantom brown and pearl white with crystal shine colour options. The company has not introduced major changes to the exterior as the popular sedan had recently been updated. However, to distinguish it from a regular version, the cabin gets a dual-tone upholstery which is in tune with the exterior colour. Moreover, the vehicle also gets a brown finish on the armrest along with a new 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
Under the hood, the petrol version is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 89bhp of power at 5600rpm and 132Nm of peak torque at 3000rpm. The diesel version on the other hand gets a 1.4-litre four-cylinder D-4D engine that generates 67bhp of power at 3800rpm and 170Nm of peak torque available between 1800-2400rpm. Both the engines are limited to a five speed manual transmission. The limited edition models cost an additional Rs 2,000 over the regular variant.
