The Corolla Altis and Innova Crysta have been popular selling models for the Japanese automaker in India. However, other models like Etios and Liva have not been impressive sellers in the country. Ahead of its facelift debut in October this year, the company is offering discounts on the current Etios and Livos models.
Toyota had showcased the facelift models in Brazil. Post its India debut in October this year, it is expected to regenerate customer interest. As for the current models, Mumbai dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs 15,000, whereas dealerships in Delhi are offering discount of about Rs 12,000 – Rs 13,000 on the Etios and about Rs 10,000 on the Liva. The new facelift models will continue to be powered by existing engine options, while changes will be restricted to cosmetic upgrades.
In terms of design upgrades, the facelift models will get a newly designed radiator grille and dual tone bumper with new fog lamp housing. The rear section will also get mild cosmetic upgrades. The Brazil-spec model featured 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, side skirts and boot-lid integrated spoiler, and it is to be seen if the India-bound model will also get similar upgrades. Inside, the models will get premium upholstery with new multi-function steering wheel and cruise control. The analogue cluster will be replaced with an all-digital layout. The dashboard will get a modern touchscreen infotainment system with navigation.
Mechanically the Liva continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which generates 79bhp of power and 104Nm of torque, while the Etios on the other hand gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine which generates 89bhp of power and 132Nm of torque. Both the models get a 1.4-litre diesel engine which generates 67bhp of power and 170Nm of torque.
