Toyota may launch a new C-segment sedan

Toyota may launch a new C-segment sedan for the Indian market within the next year and a half. It will be a vehicle positioned to take on the Honda City and is expected to bridge the gap between the Etios and the recently launched Corolla Altis.  

While some stories suggest that this car will be the Vios sedans other speculate that it will be a specially developed model based on an existing platform which in all probability will be the one that underpins the Etios. It will have Toyota’s new design language that made its debut with the Corolla Altis.  

This car is expected to make use of the B segment’s sedan’s engines and gearbox options but  is likely to debut an automatic gearbox. It is expected to have many of the segment standard features which may also make their way to the Etios later on.
