Toyota Vios has been a popular choice in the international market for quite a while now. Currently in its generation, the compact sedan is expected to be launched in India in second quarter of 2018. The new model was launched in Thailand last year and is expected to be showcased at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo event. It is believed that the Vios might emerge as a strong competitor against the likes of new Verna, Ciaz and the Hodna City.
Under the hood, as seen in international model, the India-spec Vios will also get a 1.5-litre petrol engine which generates 106 bhp and 140 Nm of peak torque. The fairly powered engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual as well as optional 7-Speed CVT. Exclusively for India, the vehicle might be offered with a 1.4-litre engine which will be carried forward from the Etios. As for safety, the Vios is likely to get traction control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, and dual airbags as standard, while the top-spec model might get ESP.
The upcoming Toyota Vios measures 4420 mm in length and has a decent wheelbase of 2550 mm. Along with fairly decent interior upholstery, the vehicle will be offered with a touchscreen infotainment system. More details about the vehicle will be known soon and far as pricing is concerned it is expected to be priced between Rs 7.0 - Rs 12.0 lakh (Ex-showroom).
