Speaking of MPVs in the country, the Innova Crysta has been an undisputable leader in the segment. In order to strengthen its foothold further, Toyota is likely to introduce the Crysta Touring Sport next month. Changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades, while mechanically it will continue to be powered by existing engine options. The upcoming trim is believed to be based on the Venturer in the Indonesia.
The Innova Crysta Touring Sport will be based on the current top-spec ZX variant. The trim will get interesting body cladding on the bumpers, wheel arches as well as side skirts. A bit of chrome is also expected to be offered on the grille and ORVMs. The upcoming model will continue to ride on 205/65 R16 tyres, but might get blackened alloys this time for that sporty appeal. Inside, we expect to see premium leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system and TFT multi-information display. Additionally it might also get Touring Sport embossed floor mats and other unique detailing.
The Innova Touring Sport will continue to be powered by the existing 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel engines which generate 164bhp/245Nm and 172bhp/360Nm, respectively. Reports further indicate that the upcoming Innova Crysta Touring Sport might only be offered in six-seat version. Toyota might offer the Touring Sport as a limited edition model which might cost an additional Rs 50,000 – Rs 70,000 over the current Crysta ZX price.
