Toyota has launched the updated Liva hatchback at Rs 5.76 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 6.79 lakh for the diesel trim (ex-showroom Delhi). The revised hatchback gets some cosmetic changes and comes with dual airbags as standard.
The changes come in the form of a dual tone paint scheme. The roof, OVRMS and the pillars are painted in black to give the hatchback a different look. The car now rides on 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The updates extend into the cabin of the car as well with a new wood finish dashboard and a music system equipped with Bluetooth. The seats are adorned with dual tone fabric and the car comes equipped with dual airbags, pre-tensioner and a force limiter front seatbelts as standard.
There are no changes to the powertrain and the updated Etios Liva hatchback is powered by the same set of engines. This means the diesel variant continues to be powered by the 1.4-litre diesel engine, while the petrol sedan gets power from the same 1.2-litre motor. The transmission options also remain the same with the five-speed manual gearbox.
Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. said, "It is our endeavour to continuously upgrade our offering in line with the changing lifestyle preferences of our customers and with Etios Series being received “Most Promising Brand 2015” by Economic Times and we are confident, the New Liva will further delight our customers this auspicious season."
It is exactly a year now, since the facelifted Etios Liva hatchback was launched. Today there are many new hatchbacks in the Indian market and to compete with them, Toyota has now brought in this cosmetic makeover. This will also help boost the dying sales of the hatchback with the onset of the festive season.
