Toyota has unveiled special editions of the Liva hatchback and the Etios sedan called the Xclusive concept for Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs six lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. They are available with both petrol and diesel engines and are based on the equivalent G variants of the standard car. While there is no number on how many Liva’s will be produced, the official Toyota website says that only 1000 units of Etios Xclusive will be produced.
The Toyota Etios and Liva Xclusive in addition to the features of the G variant both get two-tone interiors with what the company calls premium seat fabric, Bluetooth connectivity (with a remote) for the music system, chrome accented gear knob, rear parking sensors and an Xclusive badge on the outside. The car can be had in three ‘Xclusive’ shades; white, Symphony Silver and Classic Grey.
The engine and underpinnings remain unchanged from the standard car. This means a 1.2-litre petrol mill that produces 80PS and 104Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre engine in the sedan that produces 90PS and 132Nm of torque. The diesel is a 1.4-litre oil burner that churns out 68PS and 170Nm of torque. All three engines have been mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
It is likely that Toyota has launched the limited edition models in a bid to cash on the festival season and in turn boost the sales of its two steady selling models. Both Xclusive editions have been launched in select locations and will be made available across the country from next week.
