Toyota Kirloskar Motors' domestic sales continue to show an upward trend in June. The company sold 12,010 units in June 2014 as compared to 11,010 units in June 2013, thereby registering a growth of nine per cent, the exports stood at 1,384 units of the Etios range.
Toyota overall sold 13,394 units which is slightly down in comparison to the 13,805 units sold in June 2013.
Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice - President, Sales and Marketing said, “We registered nine per cent growth in the domestic market last month. We welcome the government's decision to extend the excise duty and hope this will help improve market sentiments further. The newly launched Corolla Altis and Etios Cross have been well accepted by the customers, especially for QDR – Quality, Durability and Reliability. We would like to thank our customers for their appreciation. We sold 922 units and 626 units of the Corolla Altis and Etios Cross respectively. We received more than 5,400 total booking orders for the Etios Cross and more than 3,000 for Corolla Altis .The waiting period for Etios Cross is more than 3 months and more than 2 months for Corolla Altis. We are currently working towards reducing the waiting period.”
This is good news for the company, after facing turbulent times due to the labour unrest and reduced production. The sales of the company is now stabilising and having launched two new products in May, the Etios Cross and the eleventh-gen Corolla Altis sedan, the sales are bound to get better in the coming months.
