Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that it has sold its one millionth car in India. The Etios, the sale of which brought up this milestone, was delivered to a customer in Cochin.
To commemorate this achievement, the company is offering a special scheme to prospective buyers this month. The consumers will be given an option to choose from various offers. These include benefits up to Rs 40,000. The customers will be provided different finance schemes on a low rate of interest or 100 per cent on road funding through its subsidiary finance arm, Toyota Financial Services, India.
N. Raja, Senior Vice President, TKM, said, “The sale of Toyota’s one millionth car in India marks a very important milestone for us. Since its inception, Toyota has been present in the MPV/SUV segment in India and we have been market leaders ever since in these segments. It is only in 2011 that we forayed into the mass segment with the Etios & Liva and still have been able to realise this milestone in such a short duration.
“As we achieve this significant landmark, I would like to thank our valuable customers, dealer partners, employees and suppliers for their support and commitment. We will continue to focus our efforts in bringing Toyota’s globally renowned QDR products to the Indian market.”
Right from localising the products across its portfolio to helping create job opportunities in India, Toyota has shown a gradual but steady growth ever since it was established in the country in 1997. The company has widened its network of dealers and suppliers across the nation. The manufacturer has two facilities in Karnataka where the present cars are produced and assembled.
In other developments, the Toyota Etios Cross was launched recently and the all-new Corolla will be introduced in the Indian market.
