Toyota Kirloskar Motors has reported increase in sales for the month of September. It sold to 15,795 units as compared to 14,291 units in the same month last year resulting in a growth of 10 per cent. This is a significant step for the Japanese automaker as it has been seeing negative growth over the last few months.
However, its overall sales for September was 12, 015 units as compared to 12, 115 units in the corresponding period last year. The company also managed to export 3,780 units of the Etios twins.
Looking at the sales in Sept 2013, Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director and CEO, Marketing and Commercial commented, “The market continues to be sluggish. We hope that the market will improve with the upcoming festive season.”
The Japanese automaker is also expected to soon launch the facelifted Innova MPV for the Indian market soon. It was launched in Indonesia last month and features cosmetic changes as well as a new top spec diesel variant. We have previewed the car as well as published a speculative price list.
