Toyota has launched the petrol variant of the Innova for the Indian market. The new variants are priced in the range of Rs 13.73 lakh to Rs 19.62 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The Innova Crysta's petrol-variant comes powered by an in-line four-cylinder 2.7-litre unit that churns out 164bhp at 5,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It is offered with the option of a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. Till now, the Innova Crysta was only sold with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines.
Akito Tachibana, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “The Innova is an iconic brand and has long established itself as the number one MPV in the Indian market. This can be further reiterated with the overwhelming success of the new Innova Crysta which was launched earlier this year. Often referred to as the segment creator, the brand Innova has proved itself again by being the first in the segment to offer a vehicle with a petrol variant. At Toyota, we are constantly striving to make our products even better catering to the varied and changing needs of our customers. We are confident that the new petrol variant of the Innova Crysta further reiterates Toyota’s commitment to the Indian market and will add to customer delight."
The new petrol variant also follows the footsteps of the oil-burner variant and comes equipped with the same features and equipment from its sibling. It will be offered in the Gx and Vx trim in both the seven- and eight-seater arrangement. Bookings and deliveries of the petrol Innova Crysta have begun today.
Toyota had announced plans of introducing this petrol Innova for the Indian market. However, with the success of the diesel-powered Innova Crysta and the ban of diesel vehicle above 2,000cc in Delhi, the carmaker was prompted to launch this petrol model of the MPV quickly. Now, with the availability of both the petrol and diesel models of the Innova, we can expect it to get even more popular.
