Japanese automaker Toyota mildly tweaks the top-spec Innova ZX variant, which now gets 16-inch alloys as standard. It is believed that the company’s decision has been influenced by customer feedbacks. Until now, only the Innova ZX variant was offered with 17-inch alloys, while the rest of the variants came with 16-inch alloys.
The Toyota Innova ZX sported 17-inch alloys with 215/55 tyres that indeed made it visually appealing. However, it reportedly did not offer the best of ride quality and the thinner tyre side walls also increased the risk of wheels being damaged. The new 205/65 tyres around 16-inch wheels gets thicker side walls that not just makes it a better option but also offers a better drive quality. Moreover, from a buyer’s perspective replacing the smaller wheels is an affordable option. Apart from this minor upgrade, the top-spec ZX variant does not get any other changes for now and the vehicle continues to be offered at the existing price.
Toyota offers the Innova Crysta in two engine options. The new 2.4-litre engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and generates 147bhp of power and 360Nm of torque, while the 2.8-litre engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox and generates 174bhp of power at 3400rpm and 360Nm of torque. For safety, all the variants come with three airbags (including driver knee airbag), ABS and brake assist as standard.
