Toyota’s best-selling product in India, the Innova Crysta is all set to introduce a sportier variant in the country tomorrow. Likely to be called the Innova Touring Sport, the new trim will be based on the Toyota Venturer sold in Indonesia. Changes are expected to be limited to cosmetic upgrades, while mechanically it will continue to be powered in existing engine options. The soon to launched Innova Touring Sport will sit above the current Crysta’s top-spec ZX variant.
On the exterior, the new model will get sporty body cladding on the bumpers, wheel arches and side skirts. As offered in the Venturer, the Innova Touring Sport is also expected to get chrome element on the ORVMs as well the grille which is flanked by smoked headlamps. The vehicle will sit on 205/65 R16 tyres wrapped around blackened alloys that give it a sportier stance. Speaking about the interior, the new variant is expected to be offered with premium leather upholstery along with a touchscreen infotainment system and a TFT multi-information display. It is anticipated that the vehicle might also get a unique Touring Sport badge and embossed floor mats along with other unique detailing.
The upcoming Toyota Innova Touring Sport might be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version will get a 2.7-litre engine which puts out 164bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. As for the diesel version, it might get a 2.8-litre engine which puts out 172bhp of power and 360Nm of torque. Pricing aspect will be revealed tomorrow, but we believe it will cost an additional Rs 50,000-Rs 70,000 over the current top-spec Crysta.
