The new Toyota Fortuner has been thrilling global car buyers with its new age design and feature upgrades. Owing to the recent uplifting of ban on registration of over 2.0-litre diesel engines in Delhi, the Japanese automaker is likely to launch the new Fortuner in November this year.
Mechanically, the new Fortuner will be offered with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre GD engine options which put out about 148bhp and 400Nm of torque, and 177bhp of power and 450Nm of torque respectively. Both the engines will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission option. The four-wheel drive system is likely to be offered in a bigger engine variant. It is speculated that Toyota might also introduce a petrol Fortuner variant this time.
As for the design aspect, the new Toyota Fortuner features a new slim grille design with a chrome slat on each side. The sleeker headlamps with projector units and LED DLRs render it a sportier appeal. The bumpers have been redesigned and it gets round fog lamps with chrome accents. In terms of dimensions, the new model is about 90mm longer and 15mm wider than the current model and its height and wheelbase has been reduced by 15mm and 5mm respectively. Inside, you can expect leather upholstery and a large infotainment system located in the centre of the dashboard.
