Toyota Kirloskar Motor sales showed a positive trend in May after emerging from the labour unrest at its twin plant in Bidadi, Karnataka. The company sold 13,230 units in May 2014 as compared to 12,502 units in May 2013, thereby registering a growth of six per cent, the exports stood at 1,397 units of the Etios range.
Toyota, in the domestic market, sold 11,833 units in May 2014 as compared to 10,023 units in May 2013, thereby registering an 18 per cent growth.
Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice - President, Sales and Marketing said, “We have resumed normalcy in production and have registered growth in May. We launched Etios Cross and The all-new Corolla Altis, last month. We have received a very good response for the new launches and would like to thank the customers for their appreciation. We started dispatching the new models in May. We registered sales of 555 units and 548 units of the Etios Cross and the Corolla Altis, respectively.”
This is good news for the company after facing turbulent times due to the labour unrest and reduced production . Toyota has also launched two new products in the month of May, the Etios Cross and the eleventh-gen Corolla Altis sedan.
