- Exteriors and interiors are identical to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
- Toyota Glanza will launch in June 2019.
- It will be available in G and V trims.
Last week, the first images of Toyota Glanza surfaced online. The rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno based was spotted in a Phoenix Red paint scheme, alongside the Nexa Blue colour option. The images also reveal the interiors of the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
While the exteriors and interiors are identical to the Maruti Baleno, the only visible changes are the Toyota logos that have replaced the Suzuki logo. Toyota will offer the Glanza in two high-spec G and V trims, which are equivalent to the Zeta and Alpha variants of the Baleno. The spotted unit is a top-spec V version.
Toyota Glanza is scheduled for launch in June 2019, and our source close to the manufacturer has revealed to us that the car will be launched in India on 16 June. The Glanza will be manufactured by Suzuki at its Gujarat facility and supplied to Toyota Kirloskar Motors.
While the car is identical to the Baleno, Toyota will position it as a premium offering in the B2 segment. Unlike Maruti's two years/40,000 km warranty, Toyota will offer three years/unlimited km warranty on the Glanza. Additionally, the company will also provide the Toyota Express Service (TOYOTA EM60), Toyota QService, Toyota Financial Services, Roadside Assistance, body & paint warranty, Toyota accessories and a dedicated Smartphone App among others.
Under the hood will be a 1.2-litre K-series motor that makes 83bhp and 113Nm. It will be available with a 5-speed manual and CVT transmissions. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
