- A handful of Toyota dealerships are accepting bookings for the Glanza.
- The booking amount is set at Rs 10,000.
- Toyota Glanza will go on sale in India on 6 June.
Toyota Glanza, the rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, will go on sale in India on 6 June. Ahead of its launch, a few Toyota dealerships in Mumbai have started accepting pre-bookings for the premium hatchback. Dealer-partners are commanding a token amount of Rs 10,000 for reserving the Glanza. That said, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is yet to announce the commencement of bookings for the premium hatch officially.
As reported earlier by us, the Toyota Glanza will come powered by two BS-VI compliant petrol engines. The 1.2L K12B motor is tuned to produce for 83 bhp and 113Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The other powertrain will be a 1.2L K12C Dualjet Dual VVT that makes 90bhp and 113Nm. This motor will come with a dual-battery mild hybrid system, which debuted in the Maruti Baleno in April.
Now, the Glanza is identical to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno when it comes to features and specifications. The overall design, too, is mostly similar. In that sense, the Toyota Glanza will offer fuel efficiency figures similar to that of the Baleno. The manual variant will deliver an economy of 21.01kmpl, while the CVT will return 19.56 kilometres to the litre. On the other hand, the 1.2L Dualjet mild hybrid model will boast of an efficiency figure of 23.87kmpl.
