Toyota has upgraded the Fortuner SUV in Indonesia with minor cosmetic additions which are expected to reflect on the India spec model soon. Toyota had earlier introduced the automatic variant for the Fortuner in India which has been on sale in the global market.
The upgrade is confined to the addition of day time running lamps mounted on the front bumper beside the fog lamps. What is interesting though is the addition of a more aggressive looking TRD Sportivo variant which is also sold in India. The variant features a new radiator grille, TRD Sportivo alloy rims and a re-chiselled sporty bumper along with the DRLs. The inside gets a new roof mounted entertainment unit for the rear along with all-black upholstery.
In India, the only engine option on offer is the 3.0-litre diesel mill that produces 171PS power and 360Nm of torque clubbed to either a manual or an automatic gearbox. It will be interesting to know if the Sportivo updates will make their way across the Bay of Bengal and it is possible that Toyota will feature the variant during the next Indian Auto Expo to test waters prior to a possible launch in the country.
