Toyota has launched the facelifted version of the Corolla Altis in Thailand, and this comes after the current generation has been selling for the last three years. Prices now range from 799,000 baht to 1,079,000 baht (Rs 15.23 to 20.57 lakh).
Toyota’s latest Corolla Altis gets a sharper fascia with restyled LED head lamps, grille, fog lamps and bumper. While the profile section highlights the use of a freshly designed set of 16-inch alloy wheels the rear section shows off the new tail lamps. On the inside, the cabin now incorporates more soft touch materials along with premium looking white-coloured seams running across the dash.
Toyota has retained the same engines, so the 1.8-litre 141bhp petrol motor and the 1.6-litre 125bhp petrol engine will continue to power the facelifted Corolla Altis. However, Toyota has added a new ‘Sport’ mode for the CVT automatic transmission to enhance response from the powertrain. Engineers have also tweaked the suspension to aid a smoother ride quality.
On the features front, seven airbags are now standard across the range, and this is complimented by other features like a rear-view camera, three USB ports, a seven-inch touchscreen which plays DVDs and Toyota’s T-Connect navigation system.
Toyota India has not yet revealed when it plans to bring the facelifted Corolla Altis to our market.
